Trying to figure out who/what/when will become the guild inscriptor once 3.0 launches. I'm currently looking at dropping JC for it on Urk and would be willing to assume the mantle I guess. Just curious who else is picking it up.

The way I'm hearing it, herbalism is the gathering profession associated with inscription. War is a herber and I've been stockpiling herbs for just this profession.

I have done some looking into this profession. I have just seen the lower level stuff. example - You will collect herbs like peacebloom. and you will make that into an ink, with that ink you will need a toolbox, like you would need from Engineering or Jewelcrafting. From there you will buy parchment from a vendor. You then create scrolls, like the Scroll of Agility V, or the Scroll of Strength IV, etc etc. and no those mats are not exact to the scrolls. That is just what i have seen. I know that it is in the beta, and you can check it out in the new area. There is a vendor there that you can learn and get the stuff. So yes i do reccomend that if you plan on picking up Inscription, to go back to "old old world" and stock pile it up so you dont have to worry about going back each time you skill up. I am not certain about how many of each items you will need tho

There are a few guides out there right now as to what it takes on the PTRs and Beta Nooka. Also, I'm rescinding my inscription-ness, as those JC only gems look entirely too OP for me to drop it as long as others are indeed picking it up.
I'll see if I can dig a link up for you on the mats.

I knew you were just making an example, but powerleveling guides never hurt anyone =P

Put it this way, I've been working on stockpiling herbs. And I'm not done yet.

Notes so far:
Have WAY too much peacebloom/silverleaf.
Mageroyal is actually in the next level up, it creates dusky pigment.
Needs lots of the Lion pigment to get to 155.

Need LOTS of the celestial/fiery pigment herbs. Most of the good skill ups require fiery pigment. Fiery pigment is a chance drop from milling herbs. I've been stuck in the 230-240 range so far without them.

250-300 isn't terrible if you have lots of herbs for shimmering ink. Still need some of the random drops for "Ink of the Sky" but not bad with what I had.
